Web Server Missing In Action

The CSA Web server was down for about a week in mid-March. The server needed upgrading, and, as is so often the case with such seemingly simple tasks, the process led from one simple one to several more complex upgrades, each being forced upon us by the last. Items were arriving almost hourly, it seemed, by overnight express service, and frustration was palpable. The server was finally back in service after a week of down time and a large quantity of aspirin.

The server was down again at the end of the month, but this time the fault was apparently Mr. Eiteljorg's. His command of UNIX is clearly more limited than he thought. If you were trying to access the server during either of the times it was not functioning, please accept our apologies.

Part of the work with the server was to make certian that the CSA, ADAP, and AIA Web pages would be reached at the new, simpler addresses:

as well as the original, long, cumbersome URLs. That was the case before the upgrade, but the access seemed slower and more problematic. Access with either address is now quick and reliable. Again, our apologies.
