Dear Newsletter Reader,
For the last four years I have asked readers of the Newsletter for support to keep the Newsletter coming. The response has been excellent, and this past year nearly 70 readers sent contributions. As good a percentage of readers responding to a call as that represents, the number is lower than in years past, as is the amount contributed.
As many of you realize, last year's last appeal was sent, as is this one, as a part of the Newsletter rather than a separate mailing. Perhaps that explains the decline. This year I am including an envelope, both to assist you in mailing your gift and to serve as a reminder. But I am, once again, putting the appeal into the Newsletter to make certain that your contributions are not spent on the mailing costs of a separate fund-raising letter.
Knowing that it can be difficult for those of you outside the U.S. to send contributions in U.S. denominated checks, I am continuing our arrangement with the bank to accept contributions from VISA and MasterCard accounts. You may send us your account number and expiration date, along with the amount to be contributed, and we will send a receipt to you.
Please note that the date of your last contribution in support of the Newsletter will continue to be indicated on your mailing label.
Thank you for your support in the past - and, I trust, in the future as well. Without it the Newsletter cannot continue.
Yours truly,
Harrison Eiteljorg, II
