CSA will offer a week-long workshop for archaeologists wishing to learn to use total station survey equipment and AutoCAD. CSA Director Harrison Eiteljorg, II, will be the instructor. The workshop will be held at the CSA offices in Bryn Mawr, PA (suburban Philadelphia), and it will include lecture/discussion meetings, hands-on work with a total station, and individual work with AutoCAD. The tutorial (see "New AutoCAD Tutorial for Scholars" in this issue) will be used, and there will be sessions on a variety of the finer points of using a total station in conjunction with AutoCAD, dealing with complex shapes in AutoCAD, printing and plotting, and so on.
The workshop will be held from Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, 1996. The cost is $900 per person, and the class will be limited to five people. Housing in a nearby hotel or at Bryn Mawr College is not included but can be arranged and may include Saturday night, July 27, in order to permit a less expensive airplane ticket.
